Anthony Joshua Released from Medical Facility in Nigeria Following Fatal Car Crash

Olympic gold medalist Anthony Joshua has been discharged from hospital, Nigerian authorities stated on late Wednesday. The athlete was part of a serious road collision in the Lagos area on the 29th of December, a horrific crash that took the lives of two of his close associates.

Under Observation for Minor Injuries

Joshua had been under observation while recovering from minor injuries, representatives confirmed on Monday. The commissioner for information and strategy, Gbenga Omotoso, confirmed in an update on X that Joshua was deemed clinically fit to “recuperate at home”.

“Anthony and his mother were at the funeral home in Lagos this afternoon to offer their condolences to his two departed friends as they were being readied to be sent home,” the official remarked.

A Tribute to the Fallen

The two men who died were identified as Latif Ayodele, a personal trainer, and Sina Ghami, a conditioning specialist. Omotoso added that the champion was filled with sorrow and full of emotions over the passing of his two dear friends.”

His release from the hospital follows the sports world had expressed condolences for the champion in the wake of the heartbreaking incident.
