Catastrophe Hits as Accidental Detonation at Law Enforcement Facility in Indian-administered Kashmir Claims Nine Deaths

A tragic blast at a police station in Indian-administered Kashmir has caused the loss of nine people and harm to thirty-two more, according to official statements.

The occurrence happened when a collection of impounded blast substances accidentally blew up during management operations.

Sequence of Occurrences

The blast took place on the evening of Friday at the Nowgam law enforcement facility, where detonation agents taken from Faridabad region in the northern territory of Haryana state were being stored temporarily.

Area law enforcement head declared that the blast materials were scheduled for technical investigation when a "deeply regrettable" incident during handling led to their detonation at approximately 23:20 in the evening.

Police Statements

Security forces verified that this was an "accidental detonation" and not a terror incident. "Different conjectures regarding the cause of this event is unneeded," emphasized the security director during a journalist meeting.

The police station endured significant harm from the detonation, with adjacent buildings also being influenced by the powerful blast.

Aftermath and Casualties

Numerous cars were "engulfed in flames and turned into burned shells, with debris scattered across the location," according to authority statements.

"The force of the blast was so extreme that some body parts were retrieved from close-by residences, approximately 100-200 metres away the security post," stated an police contact.

The majority of the casualties were law enforcement personnel, along with scientific examination staff, two evidence documentation specialists, and a garment worker who was with the team.

Administration Action

The region's Regional Leader conveyed commiserations and announced that an inquiry had been commissioned into the catastrophic occurrence.

"I have ordered a probe to ascertain the cause of the accidental explosion. Deeply anguished by the fatalities of important persons due to profoundly sorrowful accidental blast at Nowgam law enforcement facility in Srinagar city. My commiserations to the bereaved families. I hope for speedy recovery of the injured," wrote the official on online channels.
