Prosecutors report that a former doctor has been charged with carrying out assaults involving thirty-eight victims who were under his care.
The accused, Nathaniel Spencer from Birmingham is accused of dozens of acts of sexual assault – some of which involve some against children younger than 13 – spanning the period from 2017 to 2021.
A senior CPS official said, “Legal teams have worked at length to support a thorough and intricate police inquiry, meticulously examining the evidence to determine that there is sufficient evidence to bring the case to trial and that it is in the public interest.”
These allegations come after what investigators called a “complex investigation” into alleged assaults at medical facilities: the Royal Stoke university hospital and a facility in Dudley.
Spencer will appear at the local magistrates' court on 20 January.
