Nigel Farage Claims Educators of ‘Indoctrinating Children’ on Racial Topics

Nigel Farage has asserted that teachers would go on strike shortly after a Reform UK election victory, accusing them of “harming young minds” by telling students that black pupils are victims and white children oppressors.

During an event for a private US Christian college, Farage outlined his perspective on the UK education system, stating that the “Marxist left” had “now in control of our education system”.

“I’m anticipating a teachers’ strike soon after winning the next general election,” Farage commented in response to questions.

“They are poisoning our kids. They instruct children to be ashamed of their country. They are telling little Johnny, who’s eight, who is black that he is oppressed and a white child of the same age that he is an oppressor. They create division, instead of fostering unity. They are feeding this negative culture.”

Reacting to these assertions, the head of a major education union rejected the notion that the schools were under Marxist influence as “absurd”. Kebede noted that any strikes must relate to teachers’ terms and conditions, and doubted whether Reform would attack these right after taking office.

“The politician has crafted his political career on coded rhetoric and currently, like Trump, he is targeting educators and their unions for a conflict,” the union leader said.

“This is highly reckless. Neither I nor our union – advocate such divisive theories as he claims … If he were to lead the government he would undermine state services, including education … and he would be a disaster for education and children.”

Reform, which tops surveys by about 10 points, has not set out much detail on a proposed education policy and seems not to have appointed an education spokesperson.

Nonetheless, his comments indicated the group would reform the system and the curriculum. He said: “We have got a massive job with education – truly monumental. Moreover, it won’t happen quickly; it will take us years, a long-term effort to reform.”

He stated that gen Z was more open to critical thinking, but millennials were “absolutely hopeless”.

Paying tribute to Charlie Kirk, Farage said: “My goal for schooling is to teach critical thinking – to educate individuals that multiple perspectives exist and they should decide for themselves rather than current practices where views are labeled good or bad. This is a huge undertaking in the UK and US.”

The party has conflicted with the UK’s largest teaching union, after Kebede called the party “extremist and prejudiced” and described the leader as “a poundshop Donald Trump”.

The politician has charged the union head with being “an avowed radical” … an individual intent that young minds be corrupted at school, their thinking tainted about everything to do with this country” and maintained that the union is trying to indoctrinate youth opposed to his party.

Roughly a million individuals work in schools in the UK, about half of whom are teachers and the remainder being assistants and administrative personnel. The leading teachers’ organization has about 450,000 members.

Countrywide walkouts over teacher pay and conditions in 2023 caused widespread disruption in educational institutions and extensive missed instruction for children.

At the US event, Farage also vowed to promote the digital courses of the institution in the UK. He stated organizations like it were “key to resistance”, adding that: “I mean this. I will help garner hundreds of thousands, if not millions of youth to your online courses. I make that commitment now and I will follow through.”

The college, a small private Christian college, provides complimentary classes. According to its online description: “A scientific, literary, theological, political, and moral education is vital for well-being and to perpetuate the blessings of freedom. The college furnishes these excellent programs for free to every interested learner.”
