The Streaming Platform is Producing a Popular Game TV Show from the Producers of Alien: Earth and the Comedy Hit.

The newest action-packed game that gamers explored was Far Cry 6, that starred Giancarlo Esposito in the role of the bad guy, Antón, and debuted on October 6, 2021. Throughout the franchise, it is famous for celebrating violence and madness with the same excitement, all while telling gripping, socially charged narratives. No wonder then that the network’s recent announcement for a Far Cry seasonal program brought on board two producers whose creations have embodied all of those qualities.

Show Details

Inspired by Ubisoft's hit video game property, the limited anthology series will be available on Hulu and will be created by FX Productions. The anthology will also mirror the video games' format by having a fresh backdrop and cast of characters in every instalment.

Creative Minds

Rob Mac, creator of It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia, and Noah Hawley, the mind behind FX's Alien: Earth and Fargo, will act as showrunners on the series via their production banners, More Better Productions for Mac, and 26 Keys for Hawley. They will be joined by Emilia Serrano for 26 Keys, Nick Frenkel for 3 Arts, Jackie Cohn for More Better Productions, John Campisi, Gerard Guillemot, Margaret Boykin, and Austin Dill for Ubisoft Film & Television.

We’ve shared outstanding collaborations with Rob Mac and Noah Hawley for a total six series and 32 seasons of television, and we are thrilled that they are teaming up for Far Cry,” stated Nick Grad, President, FX Entertainment, in a announcement. “I have no doubt that they will deliver this story in a way that is original, engrossing, and incredibly entertaining. We also want to acknowledge our associates at Ubisoft for placing confidence in us with this popular property.”

What’s Next

Mac will also star in the show, but at the time of writing, we have no details on what role that could be. Hawley's Alien: Earth was not long ago greenlit for more episodes, with FX and Disney agreeing to a new long-term contract with the producer.

“Being able to collaborate with Noah Hawley is a dream realized,” said Rob Mac. “Ubisoft has been incredibly accommodating, placing faith in us with one of the most iconic video-game universes ever created. And throughout this process, my FX team continues to lift me up with their steady confidence and assistance.”

“The aspect I admire about the Far Cry game franchise is that it’s an anthology series. Every instalment is a interpretation of a theme, the same way every series of Fargo is a adaptation on a story,” noted Hawley. “To create a large-scale action show that can change from year to year, while always examining the core of people through this intricate and chaotic lens, is a dream come true. I’m eager to collaborate with Rob and bring our shared unconventional, daring style to the television.”

A time frame for when we can anticipate the new Far Cry show has not yet been revealed. The series will premiere on Hulu in the United States and on Disney Plus internationally.
