Voyage Terminated In the Wake of Tragic Loss of Female Passenger Stranded on Tropical Isle

One extended cruise around the Australian Coast was terminated following the fatal incident of an elderly female passenger who was abandoned by the cruise liner on a remote tropical isle.

The passenger had been trekking on Lizard Island with shipmates from the Coral Adventurer, but parted ways from the party for a pause. The vessel sailed away leaving her and returned later that day after the crew became aware the passenger was missing.

A major rescue mission found her person the subsequent day.

Officials are investigating the incident, in coordination with investigators and the medical examiner.

Chief Executive of the shipping company announced that travelers and staff on the Coral Adventurer were informed that the continuation of the journey had been terminated due to the "tragic passing and prior technical problems".

Authorities also published an updated statement, and said they had "delivered a directive to the Captain" preventing any further travelers from getting on the vessel.

The offspring of the victim said that her relatives was "stunned and saddened that the vessel left the location after an organised tour without my parent".

In her statement, she described her mother as an "energetic elderly person" who was a member of a bushwalking group.

"From the little information we have been provided, it appears that there was a breakdown of responsibility and basic judgment," she said.

She further stated that she wished the investigation would be able to determine what "the organization should have undertaken that might have protected Mother's life".

"According to reports from the authorities that it was a extremely warm afternoon, and mum took sick on the hill climb," she stated.

"Officials suggested her to return, alone. Then the ship left, apparently without conducting a roll call.
